Hi! I’m Terralynn, a Metis Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and Canadian Certified Counsellor (C.C.C.) - it is nice to meet you. Life has brought me through many challenges and moments of deep struggle—experiences that tested me in profound ways. At times, I felt overwhelmed, worn down, and hopeless, but I made the choice to persevere, heal and grow. These experiences have shaped me into a stronger, more resilient person, and they’ve given me a deep understanding of what it means to move through pain toward hope and healing.

In my counselling practice, I bring both this lived experience and my professional training to create a compassionate, safe, and non-judgmental space. I believe the heart of healing is the connection between us, so I work from a person-centered approach that respects and honors your unique story and needs.

Drawing on evidence-based practices from DBT, CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Narrative Therapy, our work is collaborative and tailored to your needs, with an emphasis on empathy, safety, and understanding. I walk alongside you as you explore your experiences, strengthen coping skills, and reconnect with the resilience and inner resources you already have.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BCACC and a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I have a Master’s of Arts Degree in Counselling Psychology (MA) from Yorkville University. Before pursuing graduate studies, I completed a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Psychology, where I specialized in Disability and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and certification as a BC Teacher. I have worked as an elementary school teacher since 2017 and in 2025 began my journey as a counsellor as well.

The name Coastal Haven is close to my heart. I grew up on the beautiful West Coast of Canada, where the ocean has always been a source of comfort and calm—even during stormy weather. There’s something about the steady rhythm of the waves that reminds me it’s okay to feel everything and still find peace. As a Metis woman, I find nature to be incredibly healing and I wanted to bring that same feeling into this space.

Coastal Haven is a welcoming place where everyone is invited to show up just as they are. It’s a safe haven from life’s storms—a place to land when things feel heavy, and to feel seen, heard, and supported. Whatever you're carrying, you're not alone here.

Why Coastal Haven?
